Guitar players and dads everywhere,
I know we are in chaotic times, it seems like over the past several months things have gone from bad to worse with little to celebrate.
I’m a one-man shop, from soup to nuts, design to shipping, it’s just me. It would be difficult for me to have planned a worse time to release a new product line that has taken years to develop, but here we are.
I know you are all inundated with media, email, texts etc. and I don’t want to be part of the noise, but I feel like it’s a good idea to share with all of you why I have devoted the past 6 years of my life to designing and building better pedalboards.
There is a feeling that you get when music is flowing from you and you experience hearing it at the same time you are making it, that is magical, and is healing. Whether it’s a song you wrote that you are playing to your cat (my cats and dog have heard my best stuff, by far) or a new song you are learning while you have a free moment and your kids are playing, or in the evening when the house is quiet (rare for me with five kids). It can also be playing with the band, when you are creating something together that is bigger than yourself, you hit a chord and get goosebumps, this is why I make pedalboards. I want to help people in the way I know how, to feel that, to have a moment and an outlet to express joy, sadness, elation, frustration, bliss.
I’ve been playing a lot of guitar lately, it helps me express feelings I find hard to say and it also calms my mind as I get lost for a short period of time in its simple beauty. I’ve found some solace in the chaotic times.
